Intense acne, baldness, unwanted facial hair and itching of skin especially around the throat i.e. acanthosis nigricans, contribute to women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian syndrome or disorder)

When the deranged vata etc.. vitiates that the mamsa, shonita along with meda blended up using Kapha; hence they create circular, increased and ellagic inflammatory swelling known as ‘Granthi’.  This sort of glandular swelling was contrasted with all the contemporary vocabulary ‘cyst’ that signifies an unnatural closed epithelium- lined pit within the body, including liquid or semisolid substance.

In PCOS, growth of follicles was detained in one or some other amount and stayed because it is.  The warts are follicles in varying phases of maturation and atresia.  Thus these cysts aren’t destined to ovum.  Therefore this pathology is contrasted with all granthibhuta artava dushti i.e. cyst, like in PCOS, the pores becomes cysts rather than growing up to older ovum.
